This is an introductory online course to the Balmorel energy modelling tool.
This course is meant to give a general overview of the functionalities of the model and how it can be applied to support power system analyses in Pakistan.
The lectures will be available for the participants from the 24th of November to the 12th of December, day in which we start the on-site training.
Although, we suggest to go through the course before the 6th of December, day of the Q&A live session. Please collect your questions (by organization) and send them out to us latest the 2nd of December.
The content of the course is divided into four main sessions, each including recorded videos on the topic and exercises or quizzes:
Session 1 – Introduction to the course and the model
Session 2 – Model results and inputs
Session 3 – Balmorel cloud and model run
Session 4 – Scenario development and specific input parameters
The online course will be followed-up by a five-day face-to-face training in Islamabad on the 12th and 16th of December. There, the more practical aspects of the model will be discussed, and hands-on exercises will support the learnings. The virtual and the 5-day face-to-face training together will complete the Introduction level for Balmorel modelling.
We hope you enjoy the course!
